Wide Awake – festival preview
You’ll have to get a move on but there are still tickets available for Wide Awake this coming Friday, at Brockwell Park near Brixton, which we reckon offers one of the best line ups we’ve seen all summer.
This one day festival is the brainchild of some of Field Day’s co-founders (Bad Vibrations, Dimensions, LNZRT, SC&P) in collaboration with some of London’s iconic small music venues (MOTH Club, The Shacklewell Arms, The Waiting Room and Peckham Audio).
Spread across six stages, the music on offer ranges from indie to post punk, electronica, techno and jazz.
Not easy to narrow down but here’s 5 we’re especially looking forward to:
IDLES, the special matinee headliners
Other bands include:
black midi, Black Country, New Road, Daniel Avery, Tinariwen, Fenne Lily, Boy Harsher, Dr. Rubinstein, A Certain Ratio, Crack Cloud, Erol Alkan, Lena Willikens, The Mauskovic Dance Band, Scalping, Squid, The Murder Capital, Lazarus Kane, Porridge Radio, Los Bitchos, Minimal Violence, Crows, Debonair, Tina, PVA, Ivan Smagghe, Self Esteem, Kokoroko, Manfredas, Altin Gun, Gary Indiana, Kikagaku Moyo, and more
WIDE AWAKE will take place on Friday 3 September 2021 at Brockwell Park, London, DOORS OPEN AT 11AM, tickets are from £49.50 and on sale here.
