My first time in The Giffard since I was involved with a few promotions there back in the late 1990’s. But what made me ‘find some laces for me boots and put a freshly starched collar on me shirt’ was the arrival of THEE ACID TONGUE in Wolves, featuring the finest of the West Midlands punkin’ rock n’ rolling scene for the past…ooh 30 odd years!

With a pedigree listing ex members of Drongo’s For Europe, Fukdust4 and drawing from across the West Midland regions of Walsall, Birmingham and Coventry and releasing a scorching 4 track EP on Schitzlinger Records called ‘Electric Head’ the band are blazing a trail, yes it’s one as musicians they’ve blazed before, but you can’t beat a nice warm glow.

A blistering 30 min short, sharp, shit kicking set, of glorious no nonsense 1,2,3,4 count in songs, that took about 30 seconds of the opening bars of the first number to ignite the crowd into a ‘Fuck Art Lets Dance’ frenzy. Expertly led from the front by Lead Vocalist Tommy Farrell, a rock solid rhythm section of Steve Gameson on Drums, Tracey Skarzynska on Bass and K K Mauronik on Rhythm Guitar…and cutting through with sabre like Lead Guitar riffs…Walsall’s finest – Dave Ohms.

All 4 songs on the debut EP ‘Electric Head’ are greeted with sing along crowd participation, none more so than ‘Home’ – a perfect example of a terrace rockin’ anthem! They also throw in an old Fuckdust 4 favourite ‘Lorraine’ which was great to hear.

I could go on and on, but the best thing to do is let the band do the talking for themselves, so I’ll keep this short n’ sweet n’ straight to the point…just like their set. THEE ACID TONGUE…coming to a town near you soon…go and get yourself a tongue lashing off them!
