It only seems like yesterday that we posted the news story “Manchester’s Night And Day Facing Noise Closure Threat From New Neighbour” and now here we are with another similar story: “Brighton’s The Blind Tiger Club closed because of noise complaint from new neighbour.”
The petition requesting the repeal of the decision to stop live music at the Blind Tiger Club has already reached 10,206 signatures. To add your name to it go here:
Repeal the Noise Abatement Notice served to The Blind Tiger Club.
To read the full story about the end of live music at the club (the last gig was 16th May 2014) in their own words go here. In short here is what you’ll be appealing against if you add your signature to the list:
“Brighton and Hove is a vibrant city with a rich, diverse history of culture and live music. However, over the past eight years we have lost a number of iconic live music venues in the city, some due to issues that could well have been sorted out with the full cooperation of all parties.”
“Due to noise complaints by ONE person who moved into a flat above a bar with a long history of live music, we are losing another live music venue. We are all entitled to peace and quiet, but moving into a flat above a live music venue and complaining about the noise is like moving to Spain and complaining it’s too hot.”
“We, the undersigned, appeal to Brighton and Hove City Council to repeal the Noise Abatement Notice served to one of Brighton’s last remaining independent live music venues.”
